“Despite completing seven years of after-school art classes a couple of years ago, I still felt kind of unsure about what should in my portfolio and how should I create it.
And one of my biggest frustration was that studying in IB I thought that it was really difficult. It’s going to be really difficult for me to combine my creativity with my, like, school subjects.
And so right now I am actually very proud and happy to say that I’ve gotten into all four UK Universities that I applied for.
So these are Newcastle University, University of Sheffield, Manchester School of Architecture and UCL’s, Bartlett School of Architecture, which is my top choice.
So remembering myself at the beginning of my work with Julie, I must admit, I was, I’ve never thought about getting so many offers and like two offers in a day or in a row!
And actually I’m very happy about that.
And as I mentioned, it’s actually a dream come true [getting into Bartlett School of Architecture].
I decided to contact Julie because I absolutely hated the feeling of uncertainty and not knowing where I should start and how to get it right.
I think that Portfolio Oomph course, has turned it into reality and kind of made my dream come true.
So I’m very, very happy about that. I think that from other student testimonials, it is also evident that working with Julie is really enjoyable and I kind of always felt supported and guided throughout my creative process.”
“Even when I thought that I have done something wrong actually it turned out to be pretty cool.
And some of these like drawings appeared in my final portfolio [for Bartlett School of Architecture] so I couldn’t expect that at the beginning, but at the end I think it turned out to be kind of an eye-opener effect for me and exploit my creativity beyond what I thought to be my limits.
So for me, the most helpful was just kind of the understanding that, like, the idea behind an architecture portfolio and what is expected from me.”
Milda studied for success on my PLAN CREATE SUCCEED portfolio preparation course.
“Right now that working together is finished, I feel absolutely satisfied with myself and with the outcome. And I would say that working together with Julie has been very enjoyable.
I really loved the Zoom calls because Julie was always capable of providing me with valuable insights and feedback on my work. So I also learned to be very confident with myself and even more experimental with my art.
I didn’t even thought that it’s very important for me to be interested in such things and to show that with my art, like I didn’t have any idea how I would be able to translate the artist ideas into my own work.
And with Julie’s help, I realised that it is very much like, I’m very much capable of doing that.
And this realisation kind of even increased my self confidence even more.
To someone who is thinking about working with Julie, I would say that it’s absolutely worth it.
I mean, if one is truly prepared to work hard, then, I mean, to work hard on one’s artistic skills and one’s portfolio, then with Portfolio Oomph course the success is almost guaranteed. The difficulties kind of just are blown out.
I mean, not knowing what is expected from you [to get into Bartlett School of Architecture] is really hard and difficult like to deal with and plus the knowledge and expertise from someone who’s an expert in the field is truly invaluable.”

CLARITY, in particular around the creative process, sketchbooks, and what the Colleges actually want to see are the founding principles.
